2K Hires Apex Legends Producer to Boost Struggling Hero Shooter Ambitious Title

The renowned publisher has welcomed a seasoned producer from Respawn Entertainment to direct the studio crew at their internal studio, which is currently crafting the anticipated over-the-shoulder action-packed title known as this innovative game.

Management Change Comes After Poor Reception

Recently, 2K president a key figure updated team members about this organizational change through an official communication, which stressed that early feedback sessions had revealed the need for a more defined vision.

Ismailer stated that the team is now overhauling Project Ethos with a refreshed focus, aiming to address gamer demands.

The news follows a similar action taken by 2K Games in August, when they recruited an industry veteran from the Diablo team to contribute to the beloved franchise studio Cloud Chamber.

Dear Team—

I understand you all just wrapped up your town hall - I hope you’re as excited as I am with the good news. Last time I sent you all a message, I stated the following: “I am confident in this crew. You all are some of the most dedicated and innovative designers we have had the opportunity to collaborate with - and we’re eager for that partnership to endure.”

Through your commitment and flexibility, particularly over the last year, you consistently demonstrate that.

The gamer responses from last fall’s Project ETHOS playtest was informative. It validated the potential of a action-packed game but told us we still had refinements needed. It highlighted the necessity for a more distinct identity.

The progress is encouraging to see how far you’ve progressed. You embraced the criticism to consideration and reimagined Project ETHOS with a revitalized direction - one that’s poised to deliver on its ambition to our fans.

The belief in this project grows every day. To further the outstanding development you’ve made, It is a pleasure to welcome Ben Brinkman as the incoming Lead of 31st Union. After a period of discussions, Ben starts with us on next week.

His leadership and expertise in the PVP shooter genre is considerable, having spent the recent years developing and managing some of the most popular series in gaming, including the acclaimed shooter, and more recently, Apex Legends.

I invite you all in greeting him in the coming days. We are all eager to keep seeing the progress of the game in the time to come.

David
