Wilfried Nancy declared he was not afraid of the sack, asserting, “The team is really close to things turning around,” despite sliding worryingly close to the exit with a heavy setback against the Ibrox side.

“We produced a lot of encouraging signs that we did, as was the case today. But now it’s about sustaining it. My outlook would be different if I didn't believe it. That’s why I firmly believe we will manage to get back on track.”

Rangers manager was cautious about a title charge in spite of what appeared to be a landmark win. “Step by step, and we can develop a challenge,” he said. “The confidence in the team is excellent.”
