Ex- Physician Accused of Sexual Assault Allegations Involving Thirty-Eight Individuals in His Care

Legal authorities have stated that a ex- doctor has been charged with committing sexual assaults involving 38 victims who were under his care.

The Grave Allegations

The accused, Nathaniel Spencer from Birmingham has been charged with numerous sexual offences – some of which involve acts against children younger than 13 – between 2017 to 2021.

One senior CPS official commented, “Our prosecutors have diligently worked to support a detailed and complex investigation, carefully reviewing the evidence to determine that there is sufficient evidence to bring the case to trial and that it is in the interest of justice.”

Scope of the Investigation

These allegations follow what police called a “complex investigation” into reported assaults at two hospitals: the Royal Stoke university hospital and Russells Hall hospital.

The defendant is due to appear at the North Staffordshire justice centre on 20 January.

List of Charges

Prosecutors said the 45 charges include:

  • Fifteen counts of assault.
  • 17 counts of assault by penetration.
  • 9 counts of assault on a minor under thirteen.
  • 3 counts of assault of a child under 13 by penetration.
  • 1 count of attempting to assault by penetration.

Authorities are urging anyone with concerns to contact the investigating team.
