Legal authorities have stated that a ex- doctor has been charged with committing sexual assaults involving 38 victims who were under his care.
The accused, Nathaniel Spencer from Birmingham has been charged with numerous sexual offences – some of which involve acts against children younger than 13 – between 2017 to 2021.
One senior CPS official commented, “Our prosecutors have diligently worked to support a detailed and complex investigation, carefully reviewing the evidence to determine that there is sufficient evidence to bring the case to trial and that it is in the interest of justice.”
These allegations follow what police called a “complex investigation” into reported assaults at two hospitals: the Royal Stoke university hospital and Russells Hall hospital.
The defendant is due to appear at the North Staffordshire justice centre on 20 January.
