The artist has handed over the entirety of his twenty-five thousand pound honor cash to the MVT, which works to protect the Britain's grassroots concert spaces.
Fender was presented with the cheque on October 16 as his latest record the album was named the outstanding release of the past year.
The musician has opted to give the cash to the Music Venues Trust, in acknowledgment of the essential function local spots had in his early career.
"As an artist couldn't be pursuing my current career if it hadn't been for all the gigs I performed around the region, and elsewhere, when I was just getting going," stated Fender. "These spaces are legendary, but they are facing challenges."
Beginning in 2023, over 150 of these locations have shut down – approximately one-sixth of the total UK scene.
Over the past year, major artists such as the band Pulp, Coldplay, Katy Perry and Ed Sheeran have all backed the trust in its efforts to help venues survive, by including a minor surcharge to their admission fees, which supports independent venues.
Fender also participated, generating more than £100,000 on his recent tour to assist 38 local spots across Britain.
The money supported spaces that were facing possible closure due to difficulties caused by flooding, fire incidents and bereavements, as well as permit problems, conflicts and sound issues.
Some locations received funding support in modernizing infrastructure and technical equipment that helped performers and audiences.
"The notion that revenue from performances in major spaces supports the smaller venues, where it begins for musicians like me, is just sensible," Fender has commented.
Fender is among several artists to contribute his award funds to charitable organizations.
When the band won the prize in the mid-90s for their release the album, lead singer the singer stated that the band would give their winnings to the organization War Child.
That year, rapper and singer the artist split her award between several good causes, such as the NSPCC and a Sickle Cell charity.
"And I donated a thousand pounds to the center, to their gymnastics class, because I practiced gymnastics when I was younger and they required updated gear," the artist told a publication.
Two years ago, Ezra Collective contributed their funds to the youth organization that developed their act, in addition to other independent music bodies.
Additionally the 1994 recipients M People contributed their award to a multiple sclerosis charity after a friend was found to have the disease.
"The victory was sufficient," said artist Small. "The money was the extra but we didn't need the cherry, because we had the main prize. So our success affected somebody else's life."
Last week, the Music Venues Trust shared it had protected two small stages in south-east England, by bringing them into local control.
The first in that area and the other in the city were acquired under the Own Our Venues scheme, which is supported by a national body and enthusiasts who purchase "shares" in the properties.
